5 baby items to make life with a newborn easier
Life with a newborn can come with its own set of challenges, I'm here to make it easier!
As moms we want to make sure we have the best products for our babies. We scour multiple sites, read countless reviews and at the end of the day our heads are still left spinning. Here I'm going to try to make that process slightly easier. As a mom of 3 I've gone on that journey a few times. Shopping for baby #3 was definitely easier because I've already established my favorite brands and products. In the following list I'll go through and highlight those products to try to make it easier for you! *As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
We LOVE these pacifiers in our house! They're easy to clean, affordable, but most importantly my baby loves them! We recently welcomed our third baby to the world, when we met with the lactation specialist she mentioned something that we've never heard of before, nipple confusion. We looked at each other a little caught off guard because we've given our two daughters pacifiers before and they never had a problem with latching while breastfeeding. We tried these pacifiers and we haven't had that problem at all with our son, he likes them and they've helped us all get a few extra minutes of sleep which is wonderful because as we all know that is hard to come by. Now I will say that these pacifiers to pick up dust and hair really easily but a quick rinse and clean will fix that.
Dr. Brown's Bottles
We haven't used these bottles yet with our son but I have used them with my two daughters and we really liked them. I've exclusively breastfed all of my babies and these bottles mimic the reduction of air ingestion. That is a feature that we were looking for because we've always dealt with babies that spit up a lot. There are a lot of parts that help with preventing colic and minimizes the amount of spit up including the vent parts which can make clean up a little more difficult.
Aquaphor Healing Ointment
I don't even know where to start when it comes to Aquaphor or "booty paste" as we call it in our house. We use it for a variety of reasons including diaper rash and dry skin patches. Our kids have always had extremely sensitive skin and we've never had any problem with using this on them. We also like that it isn't an oily consistency which helps not cause any extra irritation. The tube can make getting it out a little difficult to get out especially when you're trying to get it on a fussy and wiggly baby. But overall, we really love this product.
Huggies Diapers & Wipes
Huggies may seem like an obvious choice because of how reliable they are, time and time again they show why they are the top choice for many parents. The reason we prefer Huggies diapers and wipes for our children is because like I mentioned before my kids have sensitive so having a diaper that will not only keep them comfortable by keeping leaks at bay, we also needed a diaper that won't cause a rash.
Frida Nasal Aspirator
I know to first time parents the Frida nasal aspirator can look a little scary, it was to me when I first looked at it too. The question I had was "am I going to suck up boogers when I use this?" Well, I'm happy to report that you in fact do NOT suck up boogers but you do help your baby be comfortable. I prefer this to the standard bulb aspirator because I feel like this can be a quicker and easier to use. The biggest downfall to this product though is that you do need to buy the filter replacements because you do need to use a new one each time, but a quicker more effective way to clear congestion for my babies is a good payoff in my book!
